NiN10Doh! is COMPLETE!

Hey Everybody!

Remember that Newgrounds movie that I said I had a part in animating? Well it's done & the film is up on Newgrounds! Here's a direct link to the page!:

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/432427 & REMEMBER TO VOTE "5"! WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET, FOLKS!

Congratulations to everybody who took part!

After watching the movie, I noticed how many mistakes I made. I still don't understand why the faces blink black every few times, I don't remember seeing that when I sent it off. Oh well, what's done is done. Onto something new!

Hey Mike,
Very funny excellent work. If you hadn't mentioned your mistakes I wouldn've noticed them, I know that's not much of a consolation but it was a very nice job. Do you guys have any other cool projects coming up?

Your Fan,
David Spector

David Spector, mah bruddah!
I think the mistakes are extremely noticable myself, & this isn't the modesty talkin'. I've already gotten a few negative (even somewhat malicious) criticisms from people watchin' the video. But hell, I don't care about critics. What's done is done. Besides, it was my first time. I consider this one a practice run. In the future, I'll make sure my animations are properly colored, inked or whatever. Glad you liked it eitherway.

David from clay class, welcome aboard! Good stuff, especially for someone your age. I'm not really into any of that South Park or YoutubePoop stuff myself, but you've got your thing goin', so that's ok with me. Thanks for stoppin' by!

Oh, David Spector, I almost forgot to answer your second question!

There might be something new coming down the pipeline, but it's still in the pre-development stage, so I don't quite know for sure what'll happen. I DO know that I am making my own little FLASH cartoons exclusive to this site, but that'll take some time before you get to see any of the finished product(s). Also, there MAY be a big surprise in store in the next few weeks, but like the FLASH films, you'll just have to wait & see for yourself when & if it does come. Ciao!

I'm glad you thought it was funny, Anonymous Commenter!

First off, it was the Topi (the little hairy penguin thingy) that gave 'em the heave ho. He's the one with the boxing gloves for hands.

& no, that wasn't me as the voice. I did voice Poo in the Earthbound segment ("Aww, the poor child") & I was the guy who yelled "DONKEY BONG!". Speaking of Donkey Bong, I came up with that joke, it's based on a true story. I named my sister's first bong 'Donkey Bong' & when I told that to Chris Niosi(aka Kirbopher, the head guy on the project) he said it's gotta be in the show. I didn't animate it though, he did.

As for the voices, two of Kirb's friends did Popo & Nana. at first when I got the audio to animate over, I highly disliked the voice of Popo. I thought it would be funnier if he sounded like Antonio Banderas or something, but the Ice Climbers do sound that high-pitched in the games, so it stuck.

Thanks for commenting!

and 1 question, how is it that u animate like that? ive tried, and MAN are they bad, i would appreciate it if you could let out *the answer* to good animating.

Luis, glad you liked the film!

Since I'm still a novice at animation, I personally am not an expert at good animation. But I'll do the best I can:

For my scene in the film, I animated almost completely straight ahead (start from drawing 1 & draw 'til the last frame), except in a few cases, because I had to be synced with the audio. The thing I like about straight ahead animation is that everything seems spontaneous & loose, but the drawback is there's not a lot of consistancy. The characters'll grow &/or shrink & they'll move around like Jell-O. That's why it's good to plan the poses ahead sometimes so you can keep on track of things.

Also, I don't really like to 'tween' things. You'll see it in a lot of the other guy's scenes, where an arm or something just sorta drifts to the next position, or the character is stretched or squashed digitally. They don't seem organic enough. When I animate, I like to draw each & every frame, except for scenes where I want only one thing to move (an arm, eyes, etc.)

As far as I know, this is probably the best I can tell you about how I animate in FLASH without going into too much detail. But I'll also let you in on some observational things that are good to know about animating in general: if you like something, study it & use it in your own work. Watch all types of cartoons or even live-action movies & reference/take things from them. Also, plan your poses clearly & work on the timing of the action(s). Timing is mthe biggest flaw in my work, I need to spend some time on that. & lastly, make sure to check out some reall good books about animation & cartooning. I recommend "The Illusion of Life" by Frank Thomas & Ollie Johnston & Richard Williams' "The Animators Survival Kit". Those two books are our bibles.

Hope that helps you out, & thanks for stopping by my little blog! & make sure to check out "$oopah NIN10Doh!" when it comes out in a few months, I'll be doing some animation/voices in that too!
